Inspired by the light of a sunny day in the south of France, Nathalie Lorson has composed an optimistic and reassuring fragrance. The top notes, a larger than life fig, is illuminated by a duo of juicy citrus mandarin and clementine. The floral heart, composed of freesia and orange blossom, meets the aromatic breath of Sri Lankan black tea. Finally,an enveloping wood accord, between the softness of Virginian cedarwood and the creaminess of sandalwood, provides comfort and refinement to the signature. The voluptuous benzoin reinforces this cocooning accord with its balmy effects.

This is really lovely. I prefer the absolut version to the original as I don’t get the strong rather peppery, bitter marigold note that I do in the original. This version is sweeter than the OG, very citrusy and fresh on the opening with a soft musky, slightly smoky undertone.
I’m currently on the hunt for a church/incense fragrance. This is incredibly smoky but fresh, dark but attractive, and so seductive. Every time I wear this, I feel like I’m being lured into an ancient castle by a vampire to become a bloody sacrifice. It’s haunting, the metallic note isn’t very pungent but god that incense is so beautiful.
It’s dark, hypnotic, yet hauntingly beautiful. I would definitely buy a full bottle of this, though I’d say it’s more of a vampiric scent than Van Py Rhum given the metallic and mineral notes.
